New Sudima Hotel to open in time for Rugby World CupSudima Hotels New Zealand to add a third hotel to their portfolio at Auckland Airport.
Glamorton Development, owner of Sudima Hotels New Zealand, recently unveiled plans to build and manage a new 4 star, 150 room hotel at Auckland Airport. The hotel, to be known as Sudima Hotel Auckland Airport, will cost $30 million and is scheduled for completion by the first quarter of 2011, just in time for the Rugby World Cup. Work on the hotel has already begun.
The development will occupy the last available freehold site along the George Bolt Drive and upon completion will be one of the closest hotels to the airport.
With 150 rooms, Sudima Hotel Auckland Airport will be a mid-sized hotel, well placed to serve business and conference needs, in addition to those of tourists in transit. As well as an all day restaurant and elegant bar, the hotel will feature a dedicated ballroom, opening out to landscaped gardens, making it an all-season event venue. There will also be an inviting pool in lush surroundings and a gym with the latest fitness equipment.
The hotel will generate up to 150 new jobs and will incorporate the latest green initiatives.
Sudesh Jhunjhnuwala, CEO of Sudima Hotels, commented, “The opening of the new hotel will be timely not only for the accommodation needs of the Rugby World Cup, but also for the return of growth to the wider tourism industry. Furthermore, we’ve seen rapid growth in the Auckland Airport precinct, with many corporations now making it their home. The addition of a new quality 4 star hotel and conference centre is likely to be welcomed with open arms”.
