Family Fun in Rotorua
Rotorua has fun activities to keep your whole family entertained. Visit Agrodome for a sheep show and to bottle feed the cute lambs in spring, or walk across the road to the wildlife park to meet the native birds, tuataras and farm animals. For families with older children, the Agrodome also offers the Rotorua Bungy, the Zorb, Body Flying and much, much more! Skyline Skyride’s luge is also just a short walk across the road.

Adrenalin and adventure are two words that go hand in hand with Rotorua. Try sky diving, white water rafting or a scenic helicopter flight with Volcanic Air Safaris. The Agrodome has exciting activities such as the Freefall Xtreme, the Zorb, the Swoop, the Rotorua Bungy and a Skydive Simulator (Body-flying). Action New Zealand offers fun activities such as archery, axe throwing and many other great team building activities. The luge, at Skyline Skyrides can also be a great way to have some fun. Speed down the hill in a custom-built cart, racing friends and family.

Take a guided tour with one of the many knowledgeable local operators or explore the area yourself; there are many great walking tracks to choose from. The lakes and rivers surrounding our region are also world-famous for their scenic beauty and trophy-sized trout.

Rotorua is surrounded by native bush and farms, making it the perfect environment for wildlife and nature parks, such as Rainbow Springs Nature Park and Paradise Valley Springs Wildlife Park. These wildlife parks are great entertainment, whatever the season, for young children, or the young at heart. See native birds and farm animals at both parks, along with a pride of wild lions at Paradise Valley Springs.

Arts and Culture in Rotorua
Rotorua is a hub for art and culture, due to its vibrant Maori history. If you’ve been to Rotorua before and haven’t experienced one of our spectacular Maori shows, you’ve been missing out. Also, visit Rotorua’s excellent museum to hear the stories which have shaped the past and present of our region. Located in the architecturally iconic and world-famous Bath House, the museum also includes exhibitions on the discovery of the violent and devastating eruption of Mount Tarawera, the fascinating story of B Company 28 Maori Battalion in World War II and a stunning exhibition of ancient taonga (treasures) of the Maori people.
